////////// Biography //////////
Cavalcade
originates from Dijon (France) where he grew up in a family composed
of musicians. He
discovered electronic
music very late
through the famous
"An-fer" club thanks to its resident DJ
Didier Limonet just a couple of years before it
closed. Nevertheless, he decided he will become a DJ and started
mixing on a local radio station while studying. After 2 years, he moved
to
Lyon, looking for a much bigger city to play. Once there, he got a couple of residencies and gigs like at "Ambassade" and
"Marquise" to name but a few, and met some local artists such as Rico,
Manoo and
DJ Love.
In
2003, he moved to Melbourne, Australia with his girlfriend.
There he met up with some DJs who invited him to mix at different
venues
such as "Two Floors Up" and "Street FM". He found a residency at
"Arthur's"
and played at "St Kilda festival" before moving back to France to
organise
an electronic event for the "Fête de la Musique".
After
3 months, he went back to Australia, in Brisbane this time where he got to
play at different venues such as Ric's, Sunbar and Empire Hotel beside
his residencies at Birdee Num Num, n°12 and Oxford 152. He met
Julien
Love and DJ Freestyle who became very good friends and also took
advantage
of the very good Australian education system to follow some courses in
Music Industry Business, giving him the opportunity to learn all the
behind-the-scene
tricks. He also
organised a promotional campaign for DJ Freestyle as well as his website.
Time
goes by and after 2 years, he moved back to Dijon, France where he got
a residency at
Agora Café and famous Le Cercle Jamaïque as well as hosting
radio chronicles about the history of electronic music called
Elekronik. He also worked on some promotional material for a
local band and wishes to expand this activity.
After a year in Dijon, he has now moved to London
to give it go, more on this soonish...
Musicaly
speaking, nothing is really set up, Cavalcade can play deep-house as
well as bouncy house tracks but his heart definitively goes to
minimal and electro-house and more and more towards nu-funk and
electro-pop with his favourites being from Detroit, New York and
Germany...
